Once upon a time….a Christian missionary in India..

After several years he spent far away from his
homeland, family and friends….our missionary felt in
love with a young Indian lady. When he was sure about
his feelings and intentions he decided to ask her to
be his wife.

“Ok, if my dad will accept that…me, I will accept too”
was her answer.

In a shining day…our young man decided to visit the
dad…..who was……….the Hindu priest of the community.

“I love so much your daughter as I cannot live without
her. Could you agree with my request this lady to be
my wife?”

The answer was “Dear man…as I know…you are a Christian missionary. I know very well that you have a good name here…you are a loving person…but there it’s a problem….you are Christian and my daughter is Hindu….. I am sorry but I cannot agree with your proposal!”

“Dear priest, I want to assure you that I love your
daughter so much as I cannot to live without….and I am
disposed to give-up to work like missionary for her…”

Very thoughtful…the old man….was thinking again and
again and he answered: “Well, I will ask my God to
know what He is thinking about and after that I will
give you an answer. Please came back after one week.”

Prayers….emotions…dreams…and after one week our young
man came back to talk with the priest.

“Well my dear, I had a talk with my God and……I am
sorry but I cannot to give you my daughter. My God
told me that…yes…you can renounce to your missionary
work but you shall not renounce at your life style.
You shall continue to read your Book, to pray, etc…I
am very sorry but I cannot to give you my daughter!”

With a lot of emotion..our young man had a break and
after few moments he said:

“Ok…I love so much your daughter as I am ready to stop
to read my Bible, to stop to pray, to stop to go to my church……”

Surprised about his reaction…the old priest told him
agai:” I need one more week to talk with my God and
then I will give you an answer.”

After another week of emotions…our missionary returned
and the answer was:” My dear…..my God told me that it
is true that you can renounce to your Christian life style…..but you will not renounce to your God. I am veryvery sorry. I CANNOT TO GIVE YOU MY DAUGHTER!”

The young man…more than amazed…..with the heart biting
for the love of his life……spoke:” I love your daughter
so much as I …I am ready to renounce to my God for
her!”

Shocked…the old priest asked one more week as for he
to talk with his God about.

After one more week of unsleeping nights and
worries…the young man in love came back at the house
of the Hindu priest and with a stopped breath…..he was listening the answer:

“My dear young…I am very impressed about you and about
your love for my daughter…..I talked again with my God
and …I am sorry I cannot to give you my daughter to be
your wife..because you are ready to renounce at your
love for your God….BUT YOUR GOD WILL NEVER, NEVER,
NEVER RENOUNCE TO YOU. I AM SORRY…I CAN’T!”
