TED PRAYER GUIDE FOR WEEK 03-09 AUGUST

ST ALBANS, ENGLAND [ANR] - In recent years the NUC has organised her
Strategic Plan for the departments and local churches around three
points: church growth, worship and multi-culture. The framework for
this is Revelation 14 where worship is the focus, with the ideal to
proclaim the gospel (church growth) in the midst of a multitude of
nations (multi-culture). Since most of the people in the Netherlands
no longer belong to the Christian Church, emphasis will be given to
post-modern people. Creative and inventive ways have to be found and
new churches have to be planted to reach these people groups.

In at least two places two core groups are working and planning
towards this direction. In the city of Utrecht a group of 12 SDA
students are planning a café church. In the modern city of Almere, a
group of young members are preparing a church plant for yuppies,
since many live in that area. It is a great example that young church
members, unpaid workers, are willing to invest time and energy and
especially faith to organise this. Both groups, in Utrecht and
Almere, are lead by non-employees.

Prayer Requests:

1. That church-plants in the Netherlands might be successful and that
the young people involved may grow in their vision for contemporary
out-reach.
2. That many other young and older members may get the vision to be
involved in out-reach opportunities.
3. That this emphasis (worship, church growth and multi-culture) may
help the church in the Netherlands to grow in faith, community and in
numbers, and be relevant in Dutch society.
