Obviously we cannot control how people choose to view Soo's conversion story...nor should we try. Here is my thought: Don't be discouraged. Jesus had a care even for "doubting Thomas" and He loves our "doubting leaders!!" In due time, they will hopefully begin to see that Soo is not trying to be a prophet and has a genuine conversion. I've seen this article...and many others...yet it is not my job to convert, but the Holy Spirit. Let's lift these leaders up in prayer. We must all come into unity with the Power of the Holy Spirit in order to finish the work. God bless...Ethel Scroll on downand I'll make brief comments...
SOO STORY

Please, my people, be on guard. We are nearing the
end; and every devise to catch God's people will be
used.
An overseas lady, named "Soo," is supposed to have
heard an angel speak with her. Notice these points"

Aside from Gabriel, when angels speak with people,
they do not give themselves a name. (This one said
he was "Jonathan.")
Paul said he was "all things to all people" so that by any means he might save some. He also spoke on Mars Hill using the name of the "Unknown God" to tell these people about the true God. I believe God can use many means to reach people of different cultures.
Soo was told to seek the advice of a number of different
U.S.Adventist leaders and evangelists. Another sensational
point. Why was she not direct to the nearest godly
Advemtist pastor? Contacting leading Adventist commun-
icators might get them excited about learning more
about "angel" visitants.
No. She was only told to contact them. Only one did she have a message for. Was this contact for her... or perhaps for them?? And the pastor that studied with her was the one that baptized her in Phoenix. Quite obviously contacting these Adventist communicators didn't even get them excited about her conversion.
As far as the five evangelists being "sensationalism" ... that would only be the case if we thought they were somehow "stars". Apparently, I don't.
The angel said he needed to go to New York to meet with
Jesus. Another sensational item, and one that denies
the truth of Acts 1:11 and Christ's world-wide appear-
ance the second time He returns to earth.
Send him the second article (attached)where I correct my honest misunderstandings. Or have him go to www.OmegaProjectMinistries.org and look under "true stories."
The "angel" says that the angels in heaven are singing
"Rock of Ages" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus."
Those are songs sung by intelligences in the process of
being saved, not by unfallen beings who have no need of
grace! Carefuly read each phrase in both songs. Angels
do not have "trials and temptations"; they are not
"discouraged"; and their "eyes" do not "close in death"!
"Angels in Our Church Audience--Let us all bear in mind that in every assembly of the saints below are angels of God, listening to the testimonies,
433
songs, and prayers. Let us remember that our praises are supplemented by the choirs of the angelic host above."--6T 367. {VSS 432.4}
(emphasis supplied)
"Who have a better right than Christians to sing songs of rejoicing? Have they not the expectation of being members of the royal family, children of the heavenly King? Is not the gospel good tidings of great joy? When the promises of God are freely and fully accepted, heaven's brightness is brought into the life. {13MR 212.2}
"While we are to be sober, while we are never to relax our watchfulness to become light or frivolous, still we are always to be cheerful. We are to express our appreciation of the Christian's hope by joyous songs of praise and thanksgiving. Heavenly angels join in these songs. They cannot be silent." {13MR 212.3}
(emphasis supplied)
"Holy Angels will join in the song of the redeemed. Though they cannot sing from experimental knowledge, 'He hath washed us in His own blood, and redeemed us unto God', yet they understand the great peril from which the people of God have been saved. Were they not sent to lift up for them a standard against the enemy? They can fully sympathize with the glowing ecstasy of those who have overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony." Letter 79, 1900 pp.11-13 (To William Kerr, May 10, 1900) It is printed in the book Adventist Apocolypse
(emphasis supplied)
The "angel" predicted that a secret event in 2005 will
result in the National Sunday Law. Something else to
create an excitement among our people, so they will be
ready for more strange information which could gradually
lead them away from the truth. Ellen White never says
that any major event will result from a mysterious,
unknown occurrence. Whenever there is a causal relation-
ship, she states the cause.
False. "Something bigger in America" than 9/11 will hardly be secret.Here is whatEllen White DOES say" Calamities will come--calamities most awful, most unexpected; and these destructions will follow one after another. If there will be a heeding of the warnings that God has given, and if churches will repent, returning to their allegiance, then other cities may be spared for a time. But if men who have been deceived continue in the same way in which they have been walking, disregarding the law of God and presenting falsehoods before the people, God allows them to suffer calamity, that their senses may be awakened. {Mar 176.2}
The judgments will be according to the wickedness of the people and the light of truth that they have had. If they have had the truth, according to that light will be the punishment. {Mar 176.3}
Satan puts his interpretation upon events, and they [leading men] think, as he would have them, that the calamities which fill the land are a result of Sunday-breaking. Thinking to appease the wrath of God, these influential men make laws enforcing Sunday observance. They think that by exalting this false rest-day higher, and still higher, compelling obedience to the Sunday law, the spurious sabbath, they are doing God service. Those who honor God by observing the true Sabbath are looked upon as disloyal to God, when it is really those who thus regard them who are themselves disloyal, because they are trampling under foot the Sabbath originated in Eden. {Mar 176.4}

Soo could not read these words, as they have not been translated into Lao. The angel told her what we can read.

Although she barely speaks English, Soo says she has
already translated STEPS TO CHRIST and DESIRE OF AGES
from English into her language.
False. Neither Soo nor I have claimed she translated anything from English. She ASSISTED those translating from THAI into Laos. Her main job is persistance in getting the job done.
Soo claims that she saw this special angel clapping his
hands in joy, when she was baptized, and that she saw
an angel outside her window as she sat in a jetliner,
flying high in the air.
And???
Since the early 1980s, I have written about several
individuals who have claimed to converse with angels.
In each and every case, the angel never tells the person
that Adventists need to be warned to put sin out of
their lives! The message is always something odd and
irrelevant.
Hmm. Soo was a Buddhist before and a Christian after. She was told to submit, trust Jesus, obey... I'm not sure he is talking about Soo here, but the other people.
Satan would be quite willing to guide one person into
Adventism, if he could use that person to mislead
thousands of other Adventists. - vf
I hope millions of Adventists are "mislead" into serving Jesus with all their heart, soul, and mind. Then we can go home.
