Would they see Him in our Message. Would they see Him in our hearts. Are we teaching the truth in love, telling it like it is, are we holding pure motives, showing that we care, are we teaching the truth in love.

Summary
This paper contains the plans of the youth in the churches in Rotterdam and the Region of Rotterdam to reach especially non-Adventists and people who do not know much about the gospel in general. And very important themes in detail (Scantuary, health and temperance, spiritual gifts, vibrant spiritual live, importance of biblestudy etc. In this paper we shall make clear why it is important to set up special services and projects for the youth of the Inner city of Rotterdam.
The following motivation of Paul in his letter to the Romans give us the motivation why we must evangelise, especially to the ‘Gentiles’ of the Inner city. Because of Christ Jesus, I can take e pride in my service for God. In fact, all I will talk about is how Christ let me speak and work, so that the Gentiles would obey Him. Indeed I will tell how Christ perfumed miracles and wonders by the power of the Holy Ghost. I have preached the good news about him all the way from Jerusalem to Illyricum But I have always tried to preach where people have never heard about Christ I am like a builder who doesn't build on anyone else's foundation. It is just as the Scriptures say: All who haven't been told about him will see him, and those who haven’t hear about him will understand Rom 15 -16-21 cev.
With the funds of global mission, we would like to expand, improve and reach more (young) unchurced people with the ever lasting gospel. By using the present channels of AGP & ajv regio Rotterdam like local radio, newsletters, Internet, bible and prayer meetings and looking at new ways, Evangelistic projects and Sabbath services for young people. Will help us to do what Jesus commanded us to do: I [Jesus] have been given all authority in heaven and on earth Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptise them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost and teach them to do everything I have told you. I will be with you always, even until the end or the world. mat 28: 18 - 20 cev.

Foreword
The Netherlands is a heavily populated country located in the north-western part of Europe. In a country the size of NY-state. Were roughly 16 million people live. Nothing strange about these facts. But what is strange is that if you consider the Christian history of Holland, the you would be suprised that only 25% of people who got toe church once in a while.
And if we are talking about the Adventist presence in Holland the numbers are startling. There are about 4000 active Adventists members and only 12.000 people feel who feel supportive of the Adventist-Christian mission.
A few years ago a couple of my Adventist friends and myself get together and organised a project by the name of ‘Harvest’ A project to reach (young) people in the second largest town in the Netherlands. Rotterdam is the biggest port in the world, with a large diverse population. In Rotterdam there has not been much activity when you look at de advancement op de spreading of the Gospel, but the Adventist youth of Rotterdam wanted a change…
Together with a large number of Advent Choirs and the youth of Rotterdam we started a large scale concert. Which was advertised trough all kind of channels (radio, tv, teletext, newspapers, church-newsletters and so on). Because of the media attention which was given to this project (800 people mostly the under 35’s) visited the projects, shortly thereafter we started with a radio-station targeting the inner-city "AGP Radio" we have made more than 60 hours of Adventists radio in Rotterdam and the surrounding cities, for a mostly non-Adventist audience.
AGP (the organiser of evangelistic campaigns in the greater Rotterdam area) and ajv regio Rotterdam (the ay of the greater Rotterdam Area) are planning to start with Inner city ministry. To not only organise concerts or large one-of campaigns but, also give room for teaching the truth in love. The name of this document.
Jesus taught the truth, showed the truth, showing it is not difficult to follow in His footsteps, to follow the commandments God gave us and still live a happy and spirit filled live on this planet until Jesus will call us home.
This document will give you insight into the area of Inner City Ministry Work by AGP and AY Rotterdam. Into a number of area’s with the basic idea in mind to start an evangelistic project for meetings (service) on Sabbath for people of the Inner cities.

Showing the truth in love…
Paul teaches us that we not only be "hearers of the word" but also be ‘doers" We should be active. People of nowadays all are living in a form of virtual reality. Christians, Adventists included have a difficulty in spreading the message, because they do not ‘out live it’. Because it is important that we as believers know that is important to have a vibrant spiritual live. AGP organises prayer meetings and seminars where subjects as: Talents and gifts & practical Christian live. Make up a large part. Especially the need for witnessing and sharing your day to day life with Jesus to others is a important part of effective ministry.
Keep on being faithful to what you were taught and to what you believed. After all, you know who taught you these things. Since childhood, you haven know the Holy Scriptures that are able to makes you wise enough to have faith in Christ Jesus and be saved. Everything in the Scriptures is Gods Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them an showing them how to live. The Scriptures train God’s servants to do all kinds of good deeds.2 Tim 3:14-17 cev .
The people of these day’s want ‘real examples’ of true Christian live. We should walk what we preach. In reaching out to the Inner cities, Adventists youth must be aware that there day to day live are directly related to any kind of evangelistic project. That’s why with Harvest Evangelism (the evangelistic projects of the AGP, Advent Gospel Promotions) and the Evangelistic Inner City project. Showing is as important as teaching.
To make showing an important part of this global mission project we have the following suggestions:
Organise meetings for participants of the Inner city ministry in gifts, talents, fruits of faith and so on.
In Harvest Times (the newspaper of AGP), giving examples of witness of Christian live.
Prayer meetings during the week (There are more than 10 of such groups in the region of Rotterdam) where people are drawn to the fact that living faith is an important part of a true Christian fellowship.
In the meetings to be held in the Inner City Project, every month there will be an active element in it, like an:
evangelistic campaign.
hospital or elderly home visits
prison vistas
witness moments etc., etc.
Using the existing channels of AGP, (Radio, Internet, concerts, media)

Sharing the truth in love.
If we want to reach the people of the Inner city we cannot stay between the pews of our own church we should go to them and share with them our belief in Jesus. We most not only show our faith, we must also share it with others.
That’s why we like to organise the following projects.
The Harvest Prayer meetings and Seminars (see point on showing the faith).
This spiritual booster for the young and old is meant to prepare the youth in teaching, showing, sharing, praying & instructing the people who will participate in a project of Harvest Inner City Ministry Project to be ready and have a good spiritual base.

Harvest in Gouda.
Gouda is well know for its cheese, but also for a very active Adventist church, which mostly consists of 20 - 40 years old, young people with a passion for spreading the Gospel. A gospel market will be held in the town during the summer and it will be concluded by a gospel concert in October, begin November. Gouda is member of AY Rotterdam Region

Harvest Inner City Ministry, See chapter devoted to this project
Preparation: In Progress
Execution: Pilot on the first Sabbath of October in conjunction with street evangelism campaign. With irregular services during the month October, because of the Harvest series already running in that period. Regular services to start in end November with regular intervals (every Sabbath or every fortnight.
Targetgroup: Young people who are not acquainted with the Church going or belonging to a Christian group. This does not mean that we are excluding a particular group of groups. But this is were our focus will be.
Short term goal: Sharing, preaching, showing the love of Jesus to the Inner city community. Giving them the basics of true Advent-Christians Beliefs. Incorporating this Harvest Inner city ministry in the activities of AGP and AY Rotterdam
Long term goal: People who will give their live to Jesus and would like to be baptised. We are hopeful that the process (by holding these special services) would be shortened by the manner in which we are holding the services. And that these newly baptised youth can be active in own our regular churches in the region of Rotterdam or in a project of Harvest Evangelism.

The AY region Rotterdam is nation-wide part of the AY with the current youth director of the Netherlands Union Conference, pastor John Sanches. Locally each youth group has to be responsible to its own local Church board, regionally the youth co-ordinator is responsible for activities and meetings on a regional basis. Every year AY The Netherlands hosts two youth rally’s these rally’s are meant to inspire, motivate the Adventist youth throughout Holland. AY Rotterdam has always used these projects to reach the unchurced (young) people. Here you will find a breakdown of the theme’s and organisation

In all of the projects AGP and her predecessor TNT-UNITED had a very active roll in organising and co-ordinating these projects.

The New Team United Association (a publishing house and concertpromoter for AY Rotterdam) and the music studios of B Ready Productions formed a organisation which in well known within en without the SDA Church… AGP. AGP is a youth evangelistic organisation which consist of services part and a evangelistic part. AGP has a complex structure but it is set up to keep our focus of the main goal of our organisation: Supporting, Advising and Organising projects, to help in the advancement of the proclamation of the Gospel, the Spirit of Prophecy, the tree angels message and the love of Jesus to the world, by using all talents and gifts which are now readily available.

Progress in preaching the truth…
Activities currently organised by AGP where we are coming into contact with the young people of the Inner city’s.
Harvest
With our Harvest campaigns en street evangelistic campaigns we are coming into contact with many non-Adventists. If you like a more extensive explanation of our campaigns, I like to refer to another document "Harvest Series, reaching the people with the love of Jesus where the initial goals of Harvest are explained in great detail.
Harvest has reached more un-churched people than every other campaign which was held in the Region of Rotterdam, since the famous Coltheart evangelist campaign in the city centre of Rotterdam. About 30 to 40 per cent of our visitors are non-Adventists.
Story of success
A good friend of mine has been a bit of a rascal in his youth. He put trash cans on fire. He did everything, descent people wouldn’t dare of thinking of. Two years ago I met this young boy and He started to help us at AGP with the lights during concerts, now he is active at our weekly radio station. He is bringing his friends to our Adventist churches and activities, he is starting prayer and asking us about heaven, eternal life, true Christian values and so on. Inner City work of AGP pays of on a big way. The Lord uses people who do not even know it, to spread His truth to the world, telling it like is.

AGP Media
Radio- our radio-programs are made with a couple of non-Christian technicians who help the Adventist youth in proclaiming the gospel. A few of these young (non-Christians) are praying recently and the visited the regular SDA services and activities once in a while.

Artists who work with Services had a opportunity and still have to bring the gospel to a large audience, in co-operation with the Evangelical broadcasting co-operation (EO) we have made CD’s and have participated in TV-programs on the public television.

Teaching the truth…
Harvest " Inner City Ministry"
To Boldly go where no man has gone before… these words, made famous by Captain Kirk of the Starship Enterprise is a statement which will often repeated when we will start these meetings.
The Inner City is equal to a jungle of stones, glass and traffic. Dangerous, grand, fantiastic, glimmer and glamour. But on the other side of the bright lights there are poor, the homeless, the depressive and negeltic youth. One side their many riches, on the other many traps waiting for some unlucky person to be trapped by it.
The young people of Rotterdam are very active in bringing the message of hope, a live with Jesus to the people but in all our activities we had always a problem. This problem is best showed in our following text.
Battleground
When I personally look at the work oft Lord, I mostly try to compare it with an army in the mists of large scale world war (hence the Great Controversy). Where soldiers all in the camp of Jesus, with the assurance that if we follow His commandments an listen well tot the briefings, He gives us via prophecy and the word, we can be assured that we are going to win.
We at AGP are constantly busy in trying to convenience the people in the other camp that Satan is trying to fool them, that he is promising them a glorious victory, but actually bringing them to eternal darkness. In a was there are a lot of casualties, why are people getting hurt:
Being in the wrong place, at the wrong time. If we had listen tot the warnings of our commander in chief (Jesus) we would not bet there in the fist place.
Being not in the best state of health, if we eat an drink the wrong things, we cannot be of a clear min to try to stay clear of the enemy.
Just not prepared, if we did not have any training in advance, in what way are we able to withstand the attacks of Satan.
I my opinion is AGP in the front-line of the war, we are constantly trying to warn the soldiers of the enemy camp to see what Jesus can do for them in their lives an let them see the light. We are shouting "Jesus died on the cross on calvery for your and mine sins, through Him is eternal life, look at the signs of the times, Jesus will return, so get out of the army of Satan, before it is to late, look at the Sabbath for it is true seventh day of rest". With AGP we are using all kinds of tools to do the work of the Lord, Gospelconcerts, Radio-programs, newspapers, biblestudies, prayer groups and the list can go on and on.
AGP (advent gospel Promotions) is just what is stands for: people who are shouting that Jesus is Coming soon and bringing people into contact with the ever lasting gospel. We also have a mission statement, it reads as follows, The AGP Association has as goal, to be active in spreading the everlasting gospel, by using all the gifts and talents which are know available, the spreading of the message will take place in the church and outside of the church.
Just as I said.. We are working on the front-line, and this is at the same time our biggest shortcoming. We are bringing people into contact with the message, we are showing people the bread of live we are telling people of the bread of Life, we are showing what the bread of life has done for our own life. But we haven’t got the tools to let them experience it for themselves what Jesus could do for them. Not just people from outside must be able to get their nutrition in the word of God and get to know all the aspects of true Christian life. Also the soldiers in the front-line must be able to get their daily doss of truth.
With the Inner city ministries and the suggested incorporation of this ministry into the current activities of Harvest would overcome the problems which we face at this moment.
By using dedicated well trained active young people, we can accomplish the takes before us. AGP works with people who know what Jesus wants, who know that Jesus loves them for who they are. Paul in the letter to the people of Efeze, told it as follows. "And he (Jesus) gave some, apostles and some prophets, and some evangelists and some, pastors and teachers. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the truth of the fullness’ of Christ. That we henceforth be nomore children,, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness, whereby the lie in wait to deceive. But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him all things, which is the had even Christ." Eph 4: 11 - 15 kjv.
Plans for the Inner City Ministry
Step 1.
Before we start the project in November the first step is instructing the young people who will participated in this project what it means to reach out to the people of the Inner city, this will be done via bible-study, prayer meeting, meeting with Elders of Preaches of the SDA. Study to show thyself approve unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed right dividing the word of truth 2 Tim 2 : 15 kjv. And prepare the worker of the Harvest Inner City project

Start training cycle for the new unchurched (youth) members.
Plan: Integration in group -> personal bible study -> bacup by local bible-study groups (which are already in progress in the Rotterdam Region)-> if needed give them pro-backup by a local pastor, evangelist, teacher of elder. -> Begin process of making the person ready for bible-study, But he person which has been baptised in active service within a Adventist communicty or help wining others for Jesus within the progress

Presenting the truth…
During the services of the Inner city ministry their will be use of different kind of materials.
video, using the Search & Net ‘97/ ‘98/ ’99 tapes and so on making biblical topics relevant for the unchurced youth and other people
The use of music, singing together will be part of the services
The room for personal witnessing. Confession of personal faith, day to day experiences with the living God, will take up a large part of the services during the meetings.
The services will be held in a seminar like of room, this will mean that (given the opportunity) there will be room to question the preacher, teacher and so on.
Extensive use of media - Internet, newspapers can give insight into current topics which the people of the Inner city can identify with.

Praying for the truth…
In stead of a closing argument (we believe that we firmly stated that points for containing the work of evangelism to the youth and others in the greater Rotterdam area), I would like to close with a prayer:
Dear father in heaven, we come to you humbly and in simplicity to confess for our sins, the ones we know of and the undiscovered ones, Lord will you forgive us those things which separates us from you. At this moment we come to you asking if you will bless the young people of Rotterdam, in what kind condition they are, in what kind of financial state they are. Lord will you help them in the places of the Inner city.
Lord we know in what time we live in, we are living almost of the closing of time. Will you inspire, motivate our youth, our advent Christian youth to be aware of the times which we are living in. Will you motivate them with your Holy Spirit to read the Scripture at practice them in their daily lives. Not showing of themselves for personal purposes but in exaltation of your Holy Name.
Lord will you gather the youth, prepare them for the difficult task before us. Lord we pray at this moment that even, when it seems that Satan has the upperhand, that we still be motivated and encouraged to go in the city and meet the ‘Gentiles’ of this modern time and tell them of Your love, Your everlasting Gospel, Your everlasting Kingdom, Your Scantuary, Your promises, Your Word, Your return.
Lord is a long road from justification, to sanctification to glorification, steps we all have to follow, but we know Lord that if we obey by your word, that if we listen to the advice given to us via, your word, the Spirit of Prophecy and the perfect example Jesus live out for us we can get their. The place were we belong, with you for all eternity.
Lord will you be with the Leaders of AGP, the Youthleaders of AY Rotterdam, Your church, the Union and all other people who want to spread the Gospel on your terms, on your direction. That they will show, share, teach, pray and tell the truth, not to condemn people or to neglect people or to put aside people, but to encourage them to live by Your word Lord that we can tell the truth in love, telling everyone like it is.
Lord prepare us to do want you want us to do. Will you bless the plans and the people Now more than ever. Until you will return to take us home, where we belong.
